There are people who don’t want to crawl their images/photos on the web and this is specially applicable for Google (around 65% of internet users are using google).  These people could be Photographers, Directors, Actors / Actress, Graphic Designer or any one who just dont want to crawl their photos.

Here are 3 easy eays to stop search engiens (Google) to crawl your images:

1) robots.txt : Use robots.txt file.This is located on root directory of your FTP. You don’t need any kind of  editor like Dreamweaver (i just love this, using since 2004) to edit this file, just use plain NOTEPAD. Add those URLs that you don’t want to crawl by search engiens.

2) NoFollow Tag: Add NoFollow Tag on that particular page that you dont like to crawl. Make sure that this tag should be added under <header></header> tag.

3) Don’t interlink with any other page, keep it separate: For example, if you have a page called “my-photos.html” and you don’t want to disclose this to search engiens then just make sure that it should not linked with any one of your existing pages. Don’t even book mark otherwise search engines will catch you
